FarmTogether Launches Innovation Labs to Pilot Technologies on Professionally Managed U.S. Farmland

San Francisco, CA, September 9, 2025 – FarmTogether today announced the formal launch of FarmTogether Innovation Labs, a selective pilot program designed to test, validate, and scale promising agricultural technologies directly on its portfolio of professionally managed U.S. farmland. The initiative reflects FarmTogether’s commitment to prudent land stewardship and long-term value creation, leveraging real-world deployment opportunities to assess technologies that may improve operational efficiency, enhance sustainability, and strengthen the investment performance of its properties.
Innovation Labs allows us to explore cutting-edge agtech solutions through the lens of our fiduciary duty to investors,” said David Gould, CEO of FarmTogether. “We’re not here to chase trends. We’re here to evaluate technologies that have a clear potential to improve the health and performance of the land while advancing our mission of delivering sustainable, risk-adjusted returns.”
The program partners with qualified agtech startups, researchers, and developers whose tools are ready for field-scale testing across FarmTogether’s diverse portfolio, which spans $209M in assets, 52 managed properties, 15 crops, and eight states. Technologies under review include soil health enhancements, advanced irrigation systems, AI-driven farm analytics, automation tools, and sustainability measurement platforms. Only solutions that align with FarmTogether’s operational needs and demonstrate a credible path to improving land value, productivity, or input efficiency will be considered for pilot deployment.
Every decision we make—whether it’s a new investment or a new on-farm tool—is centered around investor outcomes,” said Boyd Corkins, Head of Farm Management at FarmTogether. “Innovation Labs is a structured way to evaluate ag technologies under real operating conditions. If a solution helps our farms use less water, reduce costs, or improve resilience, we want to understand that impact firsthand.”
Unlike traditional test plots, Innovation Labs deployments occur on active farms, enabling side-by-side evaluation of technologies in real-time with direct operator feedback. Pilots are scoped to assess tangible results—such as input reduction, yield improvement, or enhanced crop quality—and only the most promising technologies may advance toward broader adoption.
Technology can be a force multiplier in farmland management, but it must be practically viable and economically sound,” said Artem Milinchuk, Founder and Head of Strategy at FarmTogether. “This initiative gives us the data and insight to determine what actually works at scale—and what truly supports our long-term stewardship and investment strategy.”
Innovation Labs is an extension of FarmTogether’s disciplined approach to farmland management. All pilot engagements are evaluated through the firm’s investment lens: will this improve farm performance, protect long-term soil health, or increase profitability for investors? FarmTogether maintains a strong focus on operational integrity, and technologies must enhance its core mission.
