Acquisition Criteria
Soil quality is a fundamental determinant of farmland productivity and, consequently, its long-term value. When evaluating farmland for purchase, we assess key soil characteristics—such as organic matter content, drainage, and nutrient availability—to determine whether the land is attractively priced. In general, we focus on farmland with average or better-than-average soil quality, prioritizing properties with strong productivity potential and resilience to environmental stressors. Additionally, we consider the role of sustainable land management practices in maintaining and enhancing soil health over time.
