Cascade Organic Apple Orchard is an excellent opportunity to invest in 121 net acres of apple orchard managed by one of the nation’s premier fruit growers.
Located along the mighty Columbia River in eastern Washington State, near the city of Chelan, this project will be a partial redevelopment of a long-established orchard with a rich history of outstanding production. We will be removing various older blocks of Gala and Granny Smith apples, as well as of Skeena and Chelan cherries, and replanting those blocks as well as several open blocks to modern high-density plantings of Granny Smith apples using disease-resistant rootstock. These will accompany already-established plantings of additional Granny Smith, as well as SweeTango® and Fuji apples, and the full orchard will be Certified Organic by 2026 and fully mature by 2029.
This property was previously owned by the Mathison family, the founders of our operating partner Stemilt Growers, LLC, and made up a part of Stemilt Estate Orchards, a collection of family-owned farms comprised of 771 acres of diversified Apples, Cherries and Pears. Stemilt Growers still maintain research and development plots in the area for testing new varieties. As they prepared the estate for transition, the Mathisons' desire was to keep these orchards within their own operation and to continue receiving and marketing the fruit, and we’re very proud that Stemilt selected FarmTogether as the capital partner for these orchards.
